Zest Cafe Christmas Set Meal 2012

Oops... wait. Did you spent all your money on shopping and now you're broke for Christmas meal? If you're like me, no worries. The good folks at Zest Cafe has came up with an affordable Christmas Set Meal with 4 course meal at only RM 28.80+/set.

Just opened 17 months ago, Zest Cafe believes in healthy cooking and thus has opted to use olive oil in their dishes. Zest, meaning energy and passion, is truly the culture of this cafe.

The Garlic Bread is not included in the set but you'll never regret ordering this. It's very crispy, fragrant and toasted perfectly, I can't stop eating it!

The first dish is an appetizing Pea Soup with Carrot Swirl. It's creamy and tasteful with some bread croutons to chew on. They purposely used carrot swirl in the dish so that the color of it as a whole can represent Christmas.

For salad lovers, you'll love Zesty Turkey Salad with Pumpkin & Barley because this salad was conceptualize from their most popular Zest Salad dish. You'll get some shredded turkey meat, pumpkin, tomatoes, some greens and boiled barley, all in one plate full of colors!

As for the main course, there will be 3 choices:

1. Fried Chicken Tenders with Cheezy Sauce & Spaghetti

The Pesto paste pasta was cooked al dente and decorated with green and red chillies to match the festive season. On first bite, I already feel in love with the taste. It doesn't taste like any other fried chicken I've eaten before. Upon asking the owner, he explained that the coating used to prepare the fried chicken is imported and does not retain oil and thus, giving it a unique taste.

This dish was conceptualize from their best seller, Rosemary Roast Chicken. Instead of roast, this Rosemary Chicken Thigh was marinated for 6 hours and then pan-grilled. So the concept is something similar but yet different. All the effort put in to prepare the chicken can be tasted in the tender and flavorful meat.

Fish Slices with Spiced Rice is a must order if soft and smooth pan-grilled Garoupa fish with Aglio Olio flavoured Thai rice is your thing. However, it might not be suitable for kids due to its spiciness.

The fruit cooler that we had was Dragon fruit juice with sugar syrup and lime, I like the twist they made to enhance the flavour of the juice by adding lime juice to the normally bland dragon fruit juice. It was truly refreshing!

Coffee lovers, don't forget to try their range of coffees too! They're delicious!
